César Tárrega, in the ‘top 5’ of the U-23 central defenders with the highest percentage of duels won in the five major leagues

Valencia CF defender César Tárrega enters the ‘top 5’ of the U-23 centre-backs with the highest percentage of duels won (excluding aerial duels) in the big five leagues.

According to the latest report by CIES Football Observatory, a prestigious international website specialising in football data, Tárrega has a percentage of ground duels won - understood as any duel for possession of the ball in which a player wins the ball and which is not considered an aerial duel - of 76.7%.

In the top five of the ranking are: Abdukodir Khusanov (1st position with 85.1%), Juanma Herzog (2nd place with 85%), Castello Lukeba (3rd position with 80%), Emmanuel Biumla (4th place with 77.8%) and César Tárrega (5th position with 76.7%).
